Wonder Woman didn’t just appear out of nowhere. She arrived in All Star Comics no. 8 in December 1941. That initial splash was brief. The character quickly demanded more space. Readers got a fuller look in January 1942 with Sensation Comics no. 1. By June, she had her own series, Wonder Woman no. 1.

The brain behind the arrow is William Moulton Marston. He was a psychologist, not just a comic book writer. He wrote under the pseudonym Charles Moulton. The art came from Harry G. Peter. This combination of academic rigor and visual storytelling created one of the most enduring figures in pop culture.
